What is Intense Pulsed Light?

If you have unwanted hyperpigmentation or redness, Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) can help give your skin a refreshed and unified glow. Also known as IPL photofacial, this therapy targets discoloration like age spots, sun spots, birthmarks, freckles, broken blood vessels, varicose veins and rosacea. The powerful light therapy is delivered through an InMode handpiece called Lumecca and penetrates down to the second layer of your skin. The heat is delivered through the light and destroys unwanted pigment to give you a clear complexion. Lumecca IPL stimulates collagen production helping to decrease fine lines and tighten pores. You will also notice a brightening of your skin, hence the “photofacial”.

Intense Pulse Light (IPL) Photofacial

Our IPL photofacial treatment offers a personalized approach to treating rosacea, broken capillaries, diminishing unwanted brown spots, and reversing the effects of environmental aging. This effective treatment starts with a skin specific deep cleansing. A cooling gel is then applied to the skin, followed by a sequence of broad spectrum light pulses using the award winning Lumecca by InMode technology. What to Expect

IPL treatments take about 60 minutes. Results visible after 4 to 6 treatments. You may feel a slight stinging sensation during treatments and your skin will feel red and sensitive for a few hours following treatments. After an IPL treatment, you may experience age spots and freckles looking darker for the first 3 – 7 days, which is normal. They may appear to look like “coffee grounds” and these  will begin to flake off in 7 – 10 days. There is no down-time, and makeup can be worn immediately after treatment. It is recommended to wear SPF and to stay out of the sun during the duration of the treatment.

IPL can be used on the face, hands, neck, chest, legs, back, arms, and shoulders to treat areas of concern.
